November 17 – Review by Stefan – SYLENT STORM – THE FIRE NEVER DIES (Stormspell Records)

Sylent Storm is a four piece formation founded by former Cruella/Sacred Child drummer and vocalist Jym Harris in 2013, the band hails us from Meford, Oregon USA. Some of the members at that time were apparently more interested in other projects, which increasingly jeopardized the official release of their first release, a demo. All those who left the band had to be replaced and as soon as the right musicians were recruited the demo EP could enter the world of Metal. Finally the released through Stormspell Records in late 2018. Loaded with six old school Heavy Metal songs and as a fervent US Metal fanatic this self-titled recording gave me a very good feeling, a feeling that many other press and media sources shared with me. FYI: Doomsday’s Today/Barf Bag Records offered all songs on cassette in 2020 !

In the end, now comes the moment I’ve been waiting for quite a while, a full length album entitled “The Fire Never Dies”, with a thankful gesture to the address of Stormspell Records ! The official release date is November 27th. With great admiration I welcome a tracklist of 12 songs of which four could also be heard on the EP, the production is not too polished, the way I like it anyway. Sylent Storm chief Jym Harris delivers an excellent vocal performance on this new album, Michael Ian Brisbane makes his entrance as a full-fledged guitarist completely true. Mike Pugh lets his bass guitar roar and pound, Rich Psonak has taken his place behind his drum kit and gives me a satisfying feeling through his technical skills. Ray Kilmon plays drums during live shows with Sylent Storm ! READ MORE…
