November 20 – Review by Stefan – VERITAS – THREADS OF FATALITY (Independent)

With an ultimate form of appreciation and passion for US Metal, I present to you this four-piece formation from Kansas City, Kansas. Founded in 2012 by guitarist Greg Wenk and with a series of song ideas in his power. He came into contact with a number of like-minded souls who were willing to assist him in getting Veritas started, among them drummer Mark Zonder (ex-Fates Warning, Warlord and several side-projects). Geno Alberico was referred to as bass player, Denny Anthony entered the band as singer. In this line-up a first EP was released in 2019 which, unfortunately, I don’t have in my possession.

Following the success of the EP Veritas didn’t stop there, they went straight back into the recording studio with the ultimate goal, the realization of a first full-fledged album. A few days ago I received “Threads of Fatality” after a long journey from the faraway Kansas City, America. Fans of US Heavy Metal (sometimes with a progressive touch) should be on their guard with a list of no less than 14 new songs ! Delivering an album on their own is always a risk and an experiment that costs a lot of money, but the band doesn’t care about that.
