October 11 – Review by Officer Nice – SATANICA – RESURRECTION OF DEVIL’S SPIRIT (Iron Shield Records / Pure Steel / Soulfood)

I was never the biggest fan of Japanese Metal. Don’t ask me why… I’m no racist, I do believe Japanese people really loves Heavy Metal and are loyal fans and I can’t say I have ever heard bad stuff from out of the land of the rising sun. It might be the fact that is still in my mind that Metal doesn’t fit this country in which all is so proper and polite. Metal does not fit the rich culture of this bizarre Island. It doesn’t really matter what the real reason is because every objective and sane Metal fan knows that a band like Loudness wrote history and deserves a place in the big book of Heavy Metal.

Well, Satanica might deserve a page in that particular book if you would ask me. This band saw the day of light in 2004 and releases their fourth effort ever since. This is the kind of band that the Keep It True Festival visitors just adore. The band delivers old school Metal, in vein of the NWOBHM movement.
