October 29 – Review by Officer Nice – BLAZING RUST – LINE OF DANGER (Pure Underground Records)

COVID 19 really sucks. If it was not for this awful virus I was in Russia last week, Saint-Petersburg to be precise. I really like city-trips and it was because of my favorite football team I was supposed to be there. Well, I was at home watching the game and I am still pissed I missed my team’s historical victory. Besides this issue I really wanted to see the town, I’ve heard it is an amazing city. And of course I’m sure there are still a lot of vinyl stores over there, so yes, I really hate COVID 19.

Anyway, the reason I am mentioning Russia is because of the new Blazing Rust album. Maybe you think I knew the band already but I didn’t, I really didn’t. But, after the first spin I can say already there is nothing wrong to tell about these guys. I really like this release and I’m totally in the mood for it. Although winter is ahead from us I have some kind of summer breeze with this record. It sounds good, it makes me feel better in those dark days and I had but pleasure with this one. No, there is nothing renewing about it but it all works and these lads are delivering more than a decent CD. I like the vocals, they’re reminding me the most to the old school Picture albums (remember “Eternal Dark”?). I really love the guitars, the riffs are astonishing and the leads are just fantastic. READ MORE…
