September 10 – Review by Stefan – BLACK KNIGHT – ROAD TO VICTORY (Pure Steel Records / Soulfood)

To avoid any misunderstandings, the band I’m about to review comes from the Netherlands and not from Canada, where in the 80’s there was a Metal act with the same name. Also a band that captivated me very much, I especially remember their EP “Master Of Disaster” (1985). Black Knight, out of Amsterdam (Holland) was founded in 1981 and released two demo’s back in ’86 and ’92. “Tales From The Darkside” was their first real achievement, a debut released in 1998 and a product they can still be proud of. Same to say about the successor “The Beast Inside”, now the time has come to announce the latest album, “Road To Victory”.

An 8-song loaded killer effort being released with only one original member on board, drummer Rudy Plooy. Surrounded by a whole new team such as guitarist Gert Jan Vis who was already involved in the 90s, now he’s also active in a band called 3rd Machine. More new blood within the ranks of Black Knight by Ron Heikens (Profound), second axeman Ruben Raadscheiders and Lord Volture/Thorium vocalist David Marcelis. These guys just brought out a fantastic Classic Heavy Metal album, entitled “Road To Victory”! READ MORE…
