September 23 – Review by Stefan – MEMORIES OF OLD – THE ZERAMIN GAME (Limb Music / Sure Shot Worx)

Founded in 2017 by multi-instrumentalist Billy Jeffs, this British quintet brings with “The Zeramin Game” their first full length album on the market. It has become a concept album where especially fans of Epic Symphonic Power Metal are served at their beck and call.You can safely say that these British lads have been influenced by many masters in this genre being Avantasia, Rhapsody, Alestorm, Twilight Force and Freedom Call to name but a few. When mentioning these three bands you already know what MOO’s camp is all about, don’t you?

For many years we’ve been inundated with Power Metal of this caliber, when it all started for many bands at the time I was furiously enthusiastic but after some time my attraction to this genre had diminished. I came in a good mood because of the usually very good singers, ripping guitars, cheerful choruses and more… Eventually it looked like one band was copying the other and that’s the problem I have with the current Euro Symphonic Power Metal movement.
